Convert EPUB, MOBI, AZW and other ebooks into printable PDFs — coming soon.
This conversion needs specialised processing that we can't run privately in your browser yet, so the tool isn't available today. Here's what it will do when it launches — and what you can use right now.
The most-requested tools are built first.
Ebooks come in a confusing mix of formats: EPUB from most stores and libraries, MOBI and AZW from older Kindle devices, FB2 popular in Eastern Europe, and comic archives like CBZ and CBR. PDF is the one format every device, printer, and app understands. PDFDoco's Ebook to PDF converter will turn DRM-free ebooks into clean, paginated PDFs ready to read anywhere or print. It's currently in development — here's what it will do and how to manage in the meantime.

Formats like EPUB and MOBI are reflowable: text has no fixed pages and rearranges itself to fit whatever screen it's read on. PDF is the opposite — every page has a fixed layout. Converting between them means laying the whole book out into pages: choosing a page size, breaking text into lines and pages, placing images, and keeping chapter headings with their text. That's why the conversion needs a full typesetting engine.
Many ebooks bought from online stores are protected by DRM (digital rights management), which ties them to a specific account and app. DRM-protected books can't be converted by PDFDoco or any legitimate tool, and removing DRM may break the store's terms or the law where you live. The converter is designed for DRM-free ebooks: public-domain classics, books from DRM-free publishers, your own writing, and documents exported as EPUB.
Until our tool launches, the free desktop app Calibre can convert most DRM-free ebooks to PDF. Many e-readers and reading apps can also print a book to PDF using the system print dialog. If you already have chapters or volumes as separate PDFs, use our Merge PDF tool to combine them, and Resize PDF to fit pages to A5, Letter, or the screen of your device.
For printing, A5 pages with generous margins create a comfortable, book-like result, and booklet printing in your printer settings can produce folded signatures. Choose a slightly larger text size than you'd use on screen, and if you plan to bind the pages, add extra space on the inner edge with our Add Margins tool.
